Ectolog — Privacy Policy

Ectolog is a care log for keepers of reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates. This page explains what the app does with information, and how to reach us.

The short version

• There is no Ectolog account, no Ectolog server, no ads, no analytics and no tracking.
• Your records are kept on your iPhone and, if iCloud is turned on for Ectolog, in your own private iCloud storage. We cannot see them.
• If you buy Ectolog Pro, Apple handles the payment. We never see your payment details.

What you enter

Animals, feedings, weights, sheds and molts, medication, notes, photos, enclosures and feeder stock stay in the app's storage on your device. The developer has no access to them.

iCloud

When iCloud is on for Ectolog, your records sync between your own devices through Apple's iCloud (CloudKit), in your private database. Apple stores this data under its own privacy policy. We cannot read it. Turn it off any time in the iPhone's Settings, under your name, iCloud.

Photos and camera

Photos you add are made smaller and the location in them is removed before they are saved. The camera is only used when you choose to take a photo.

Reminders

Reminders are made on your iPhone as local notifications. Nothing is sent through a server.

Purchases

Ectolog Pro is sold through the App Store. The app only learns whether Pro is active on your Apple Account.

Exports

Spreadsheets, backups, PDF reports and photo archives are made only when you ask for them, and go only where you send them.

Children

Ectolog is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes too.

Kurz gesagt

• Es gibt kein Ectolog-Konto, keinen Ectolog-Server, keine Werbung, keine Analyse und kein Tracking.
• Deine Einträge liegen auf deinem iPhone und, wenn iCloud für Ectolog an ist, in deinem eigenen privaten iCloud-Speicher. Wir können sie nicht sehen.
• Wenn du Ectolog Pro kaufst, wickelt Apple die Zahlung ab. Deine Zahlungsdaten sehen wir nie.

Was du einträgst

Tiere, Fütterungen, Gewichte, Häutungen, Medikamente, Notizen, Fotos, Terrarien und Futtertierbestand bleiben im Speicher der App auf deinem Gerät. Der Entwickler hat keinen Zugriff darauf.

iCloud

Wenn iCloud für Ectolog an ist, werden deine Einträge über Apples iCloud (CloudKit) in deiner privaten Datenbank zwischen deinen eigenen Geräten abgeglichen. Apple speichert diese Daten nach seiner eigenen Datenschutzrichtlinie. Wir können sie nicht lesen. Ausschalten kannst du das jederzeit in den iPhone-Einstellungen unter deinem Namen, iCloud.

Fotos und Kamera

Fotos werden verkleinert und ihr Aufnahmeort wird entfernt, bevor sie gespeichert werden. Die Kamera wird nur benutzt, wenn du ein Foto aufnimmst.

Erinnerungen

Erinnerungen entstehen auf deinem iPhone als lokale Mitteilungen. Nichts geht über einen Server.

Käufe

Ectolog Pro wird über den App Store verkauft. Die App erfährt nur, ob Pro für deinen Apple-Account aktiv ist.

Exporte

Tabellen, Backups, PDF-Berichte und Fotoarchive entstehen nur, wenn du sie anforderst, und gehen nur dorthin, wohin du sie schickst.

Kinder

Ectolog richtet sich nicht an Kinder und sammelt von niemandem Daten.
